We obsess over breath as singers. When it’s not working right, nothing seems to work, but when it is working correctly, it fixes a whole host of issues!
Do we over analyze it? Yes.
Is it simpler than we make it? Yes.
Does that mean that it’s easy to master? No!
Here are some tips and tricks below to get you going on improving your breath control. Conceptually, it’s as easy as thinking of gassing up your car. If there is fuel in the tank, the engine has a fighting chance of running. If not, it’s a non-starter, literally!
Now, once you get fuel in the tank, or air in the lungs, the next part of that puzzle is how you use it effectively and efficiently. Many of us sing like we drive, too fast, lots of starting and stopping and a whole lot of wear and tear on the vehicle (or instrument in this case).
