Survival Gear

The items on this page are things that singers have found useful both on the road and in day to day life.

Please send in your suggestions and tell us what you use to be at your best.

It's SNOT what you think

Nasal Rinse: Many singers use some form of a nasal rinse. I prefer this to any other that I've tried. It's relatively cheap, easy to pack, and comes with an integrated filter, making it possible to use any water from virtually any source. Saline packets are required, but you get some with the bottle and refills are easy to find and affordable. Highly Recommended. (Click heading or image for link to purchase-Paid Link)

Slip and Slide

Throat Lozenges: It seems each singer has a preferred method for maintaining those ideal throat conditions at any time. The safest, effective product that I've used is the Slippery Elm Throat Lozenges made by Thayers. They do not contain any kind of syrup, menthol, sugar or anything else really and help that dry or "funky feeling" throat to feel a little better. I highly recommend the cherry or tangerine flavor over the regular. What do you use? (Click heading or image for link to purchase-Paid Link)

My Bach is Baroque

Neck/Back Pain: This suggestion comes from my good buddy, fellow singer Benjamin Bloomfield. He showed me this nifty little gadget that not only travels well but can really help to work out the stress and muscle tension after a long day of work. This thing is amazing and much stronger than a lot of the other products I've seen. Does anyone have any other favorites that address the same issues? It's A Good Kind of Burn

Alkalol: To be used in combination with a nasal rinse or by itself, this potent solution gets rid of any and all gunk and junk in your nose. The famous Jonathan Beyer (of Worst Cooks in America fame), introduced me to this fantastic product and now I never travel without it. (Click heading or image for link to purchase-Paid Link)
